Ven Dekhung Gyaltsey Tulku Rinpoche is a highly revered senior teacher of the Karma Kagyu Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. He has achieved the prestigious 'Archarya' (Master’s degree) qualification in Buddhist philosophical education from the Karma Sri Nalanda University and is a well-versed scholar who embodies the non-sectarian spirit, teaching various aspects of Buddhist teachings across all Tibetan Buddhist traditions.
Rinpoche has played a crucial role in the management and daily administration of monastic bodies in Sikkim, India, particularly at the Rumtek Dharma Chakra Centre, the international seat of H.H. Gyalwang Karmapa, and the Drupkhong Meditation Centre, initiated by H.E. the Third Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche.
Currently, Rinpoche serves as the representative of H.H. the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje in Australia, dedicating his time between Australia, Sikkim (India), Malaysia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, and New Zealand.
In addition to offering regular teachings, retreats, and empowerments at the Centre, Rinpoche significantly benefits many individuals by overseeing numerous International Kagyu Monlam programs. He also holds the position of Spiritual Director at our sister centre, Kadri Bodhi Monastery in Sydney.
