Theory and practice of Chenrezig - Saturday 3rd August 2019

Norbert has kindly agreed to facilitate a seminar on the following:

Who and what is Chenrezig, this deity sitting on a lotus, sometimes represented with many arms, emanating lights etc...?

Is it a God? A symbol? A visual representation of an abstract idea?

A master from the past offered this answer:

Chenrezig is not a deity, a god nor a fresco on a wall, nor a painting.

Chenrezig is simply the emptiness suffused with compassion that arise in the mind and heart of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas and emanate to all sentient beings without discrimination and with the same ardour then the love that a mother would have for her only child.

During this day seminar, we will explore the different aspects of Chenrezig, his symbolism, and we will do the corresponding meditation, and recitation of his mantra, a powerful way to awaken within us loving kindness and compassion.
